Reading News24.com this morning is a blast early on a blue Monday. 🤣 That is, if you're not living in that nest, South Africa. What is going on there will make your blue Monday a lovely snowy white one with nothing you cannot handle.
See, South Africa under black rule is busy imploding, and 20% of South Africans are seeing it, and making plans to escape. The others are either in denial mode, stupid mode, survival mode, adapting mode, or blame game mode.
Since 2015 the country lost more millionaires to emigration than any other country not at war. One doesn't become a millionaire by being too stupid to see what's coming.
After two decades of little to no maintenance, an increasingly incompetent workforce, with half of them the winners that took all the medallions at the recent Olympics in the Corruption event, the electricity grid in SA is falling apart. It is quite literally in a worse state than that of Ukraine today. South Africans do not need Russia to bomb them, they'll screw themselves over, thank you very much.
The country got its first black government since 1652 when the whiteys arrived there, in 1994. The black government under Nelson Mandela inherited the strongest economy on the biggest continent on the planet (Africa, for those of you not knowing it), out of something like 50 to 52 countries. Difficult to say how many; because with 36 civil wars at the time, nobody knew if a country was still just one country.
Anyway, so Madiba got himself the best railway system on the continent, the backbone of a country's economy, with more than half of all Africa's railway tracks in South Africa. Also an electricity network with the cheapest electricity in the world, outputting enough for 50 million people, and with plans in the pipeline to roll it out to even the most remote black village. (The later black president canceled those rollout plans made by the apartheid whiteys.)
Not bad for a country with 35 million people at the time; compare that to Nigeria with its 200 million.
But since then, every single government department went down the crapper. Health, education, military, police, justice system, minerals, conservation, scientific research, you name it, they tanked.
Thabo Mbeki, president after Mandela, refused to listen to white energy experts warning on time repeatedly between 1998 and 2003, that SA will need to start building new energy capacity. Since it takes 10 years for a power station to come online, and the current fleet would become outdated over 15 to 20 years. All because... they were white.
But only whiteys can be racist, blackies claim, so Mbeki is an angel and farted rainbows. Also, he was the guy who denied that HIV and Aids even exist, leading to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of almost exclusively black people only. Bad white complot, that imaginary virus! Eat more beetroot and onions! And so the virus spread.
In 2008, South Africa experienced a bout of blackouts. A warning from the electricity grid that it would love some maintenance, please. And it got some. The movie continues. Show a hot couple having sex here. No wait, let them kidnap some children as sex slaves, the Bible orders Christians to do it and South Africans love their god-thing to bits. Maybe add some 200 foreskins into this scene as well.
In 2014, another series of blackouts occurred, bigger this time. The criminal state president Jacob Zuma (for real; I'm not biased here, the scumbag did too much for me to type it out all here) that followed up Mbeki, then appointed his trusted deputy president (today's president Cyril Ramaphosa) to operate a 'war room' to fix the state's monopolistic electricity provider Eskom. "Just get the lights on, Cyril, I can't count my ill-gotten gains in the dark like I'm in a decolonized nest!"
Crooked Cyril, the same sly frog that must have known about the major corruption committed by his boss, that kept silent for years, while also totally legal becoming one of the world's wealthiest men on a government salary. No red flags there, look at that nice birdie in the window and let's not think nasty things.
Ramaphosa's idea of solving a problem: He told then CEO of Eskom, Brian Molefe or his predecessor, something along the lines of: "Listen buddy Brian, fuck maintenance. Bring all power stations currently offline for maintenance, back online. Do quick fixes. Don't think long-term. Just get the lights on again, so I can crook the country out of more cash, and then go live the high life in exile among the white people in Europe when those power stations blow up and South Africa together with it."
Molefe, that would give himself a gigantic bonus in the tens of millions of Rand a year or two later, complied. Lights back on. But at every power station, a cat meowed. Remember we're in a horror movie here, people.
By around 2021, while still in an economic crisis as well, blackouts hit. Massively. Everywhere. It was the third ring of the bell after its first 2 warnings were ignored by various black management boards of Eskom.
Granted, in 2019 Ramaphosa did bring in an experienced white manager as CEO with a great track record, one André de Ruyter, to act as scapegoat when then-already-doomed Eskom would inevitably fail. The culture of corruption and incompetence was already too deeply embedded at Eskom for any CEO to solve.
André de Ruyter made two gigantic mistakes, that led to his 'resignation' (read: getting fired diplomatically) in December 2022.
The first mistake: Launching an extensive maintenance program of all power stations in dire need of it. Dear André, one doesn't do such things in Africa! You buy a brand new shiny car with an inflated government salary, you keep it while the warranty still pays for the services, and when that expires after five years you don't service it. When it starts giving problems, you park it outside so it can get stolen, then your insurance pays out and you get a new car. What's with the maintenance crap man, one cannot brag with it like it's a new power station.
(Maybe we should not talk about the only two power stations ever built in the past 30 years under black rule, Medupi and Kusile. Both came online many years after schedule, at double to triple the budgeted costs, and both are more offline than online thanks to inferior materials used. Terribly incompetent planning galore.)
So, De Ruyter had to flip the off-switch on a rotation basis for pretty much all of South Africa's 40 or so coal power stations. Doing maintenance on stations meant some had to be taking offline for a month or three, causing a shortage of electricity, that led to the term 'load shedding' becoming the most electrifying word around. Mention it, and you got a curse in return.
Since then, the country had blackouts almost daily, for from 2 hours up to 12 hours especially last year, for every household and hospitals, but excluding the homes of politicians. For real. Die, patient Sipho, papa Politician needs his morning coffee. In some cases, a full day without electricity in former prosperous towns, as substations were plundered too by thieves while the electricity was off. Anyone getting the message that maybe South Africans are their own worst enemy?
The second mistake: André de Ruyter launched an extensive drive to tackle the award-winning levels of corruption at the big company with its inflated workforce of 50 000 people, while 32 000 would have been sufficient.
He couldn't fire the dead weights and skunks to trim the salary bill, with black unions being very influential in SA's government. Eskom management even had to give all 50 000 a pay raise after they went on an illegal strike, despite SA law prohibiting employees at key institutions from striking. But since when do South Africans care about law and order and doing the right thing.
Right about then, the writing for SA was on the wall. The company already had an astonishing amount of debt when De Ruyter took the reins in 2019, and he did bring it down significantly, but 400 billion dollars (or some wild amount like that, bigger than the GDP of some small countries) were still outstanding to foreign debtors. And then a pay raise to tens of thousands of people, with many not worth the price of a rotten bag of pig food.
Systematically, all tenders were investigated by De Ruyter and some board members not secretly corrupted themselves, and many contracts were found to be fraudulent. Inflated prices for anything from coal to cleaning materials. Brooms were bought at a thousand Rand each, for example, with the same brooms for sale in a shop two kilometers away for eighty Rand. De Ruyter stepped on the oxygen pipe of huge criminal syndicates at work throughout Eskom. They didn't like it one bit.
In December, the influential and racist black minister - judging by comments he made over the years regarding white people - Gwede Mantashe accused the white De Ruyter of playing policeman instead of doing his job to get power stations online. Duh?! Wasn't De Ruyter responsible for getting corruption out of Eskom as well?
The jelly-spined and lame president Ramaphosa didn't stand up for De Ruyter as he did before. The ruling party (the ANC) leadership election was due to start in just a few days. He needed Gwede Mantashe's support to be elected leader of the ANC - and by implication as president of SA in 2024 - again, and so he sacrificed the experienced white guy - and South Africa - for his own political gain.
Just a day after De Ruyter's resignation in middle December 2022, and still at Eskom till the end of March 2023 so a new CEO can be found by the cash-strapped ANC that will be willing to turn a blind eye to corruption, the white man was poisoned after his coffee was spiked. He survived because some whiteys can be tough tigers when they don't like their coffee. His security team that included black guys rushed him to a hospital where white, Indian, and black doctors saved him. So one should never say all blackies or all whiteys are bad, it's just not true.
I do imagine, however, that all the doctors at the private hospital he was treated at will become real mean if the inflated medical bills aren't paid. Private practice doctors - most, not all - don't do medicine for the love of helping people anymore, they do it for the love of money. Let's not beat around the bush.
If - most, not all - South Africans weren't so crooked and corrupt by nature, their proposed national medical insurance scam agh I mean scheme would be perfect, with private hospitals banned and the State providing medical care of the same standard on a socialist model. Like Canada, all the Scandinavian countries, and many other 'white' countries where state hospitals and medical care is on high standard. But in SA, it just won't work. Look at how state hospitals there look today, compared to when the apartheid regime handed it over.
There is still a possibility that it wasn't cyanide in André de Ruyter's coffee at all, and that the coffee was just Jacobs Krönung. Anyone will feel sick when you recall their gold digger TV advertisements of a few years back. A hot dreamy white slut just out of bed posed in négligée on the stairs of a fancy house, drinking that overrated coffee as her very successful young husband pulls up in a Porsche.
The subliminal message: drink Jacobs, and you too can have a Porsche, a mansion, and a hot gold digger, sugar papa. White girls are in high demand among black men in South Africa, them white women are a status symbol. No surprise, the coffee was a hit in South Africa.
Now back to today, I digressed a bit to give international readers the full background.
With heavy industries only opening today after the Christmas holidays, the country is already on phase 6 load shedding for weeks already. That means, from what I understand, that 6000 megawatts (or is it gigawatts? 🤔) aren't available.
The big bad 6 is the phase blessing the heavily religious people of South Africa with 5 times multiply with 2 hours each per day without electricity. 10 hours or more without electricity, and most people earn in 3 months not enough to buy a generator. It's all planned that way by God, dear zombies, his plan is perfect. (Although, to me it seems religious South Africans are an ungrateful bunch, they really curse hard online and think their god-thing's predetermined plan is shit. You're all going to Hell, sinful brothers and inferior sisters. Lol.)
As heavy industries open - South Africa has so much gold lying around on the streets that melting ovens have to glow all day long - experts predict that SA will go up to phase 8, the one before a complete implosion of the whole energy grid. Then the Saffas will be without electricity for 14 hours a day. Imagine that. And that applies to business too, which means many businesses simply closed down permanently in December. More unemployment (already at around 40 percent!), and thus more crime. But go there, dear tourists, you won't die of boredom, promise.
Now, apparently, according to today's news, 'the people' (read: black people, because white people increasingly don't matter there anymore) want to go to the streets. Seen too many Iranians, Chinese and Peruvians having fun in the streets. But unofficially, whiteys too are aiming for the streets, a very unusual move from them. Will be astonishing if white and black can unite over a common cause like this, caused by some black people mainly. Lmao. SA is a land of intrigue.
In typical South African tradition, as we can see from the 51 on average daily service delivery protests, the new protests will lead to violence and vandalism again. Yes, adult children, that's not how you should solve a problem. Build, don't destroy even more of what you've still got left. And quit the stealing, will you. You make baby Jesus cry.
Another aspect is that the whiteys don't want to toyi-toyi (that childish singing and dancing from adults in Africa to show how unhappy they are while they laugh and cheer and heckle) together with the blackies. The whiteys have learned that once the toyi-toyi starts, riled-up criminals in those unruly black crowds start stealing and breaking stuff, and then the rubber bullets from the KFC-loving police start flying. Not being racist here, just saying a thing as it is.
A big Afrikaner activist group, Solidariteit, wants to drag the government to court, so a court can tell the government to do what the government already know it should be doing but isn't doing. Such an expensive court case will be paid for with taxes, i.e money that should be spent on solving the electricity crisis instead. The real and only winners will be lawyers and advocates. Still no guarantee that the government will do as a judge or three tells them to; in South Africa the law increasingly does not matter anymore for nobody.
As I predicted already in 2019 on Facebook and on my one blog dedicated mainly to South African affairs, and basing it on statistical analysis, SA is heading straight towards a civil war, and nothing can stop it anymore.
I predicted SA will get its first major unrest in 2023, citing water shortages as reason, mainly because water experts predicted shortages back in 2011 would happen by 2023. Without electricity, water cannot be pumped. 3000 squatter camps (which didn't exist during the apartheid regime) with millions of impoverished people, will be without water then.
One can go without stolen electricity - many black townships like Soweto steals more than half of the electricity entering that huge township - but not without water. What do you think they're going to do when they wake up one morning, and the communal taps are dry? And they see the rain water tank of the white man across the road that planned ahead?
Yep, South Africa's water infrastructure is on the brink of collapse too, the sewerage systems as well, and once pristine rivers now full of cholera, e-coli, and turds, and here and there a dead body floating because South Africans are too lazy to bury their victims down an abandoned mine shaft.
The water shortages started right on schedule, as the white people water experts predicted. Yesterday I spoke to a FB friend that told me they got notices from their municipality that water will temporarily not be available in some areas because the pumps do not have enough time to do its work. And also that they should boil all water first, because the water filtration systems are not operational either.
Just this afternoon, another woman told me her town is without electricity for 10 days now, after a substation blew up due to copper cables being stolen during a load shedding period. Their water is about to dry up, with the bankrupt (it's a black, ANC-run, severely mismanaged municipality, one of 90% of SA's almost 300 bancrupt municipalities.) It's a very hot summer with no water, and no air-conditioning.
With dirty untreated water and people being forced to collect water from polluted rivers like before the white man went to South Africa, hospitals will soon get new guests with tummy bugs as pets. That is something that could have been prevented entirely, was it not for the black management SA had since around year 2004, when most white managers were worked out of government.
To conclude this schadenfreude post, here's my advice: Get a one-way flight ticket, and get TF out of SA while you still can. Apply for asylum status at your destination, or go to study or work there.
Remember, in Africa civil wars break out big overnight. The FeesMustFall unrest, and then the KZN unrest in 2021, were the first two warning shots. Both caught the country's security services completely off-guard. The third shot will be the fatal one, and it will start either this year or 2024, when the political temperature in that election year will be unbearable.
All the warning signs for SA are on the charts, and fixing the electricity grid will take ten years, according to white energy experts. No Saffa has that much patience or money to pay for the replacement of stolen infrastructure left. Jacob Zuma and the Indian Gupta family robbed just trillions too much during the infamous 'state capture' under Zuma and Ramaphosa. And to think a substantial bunch of Zulus still support that criminal Zuma! WTF is wrong with you South Africans?
Anyway, dumb people, corrupt people, and incompetent people, you stay there. Do your African thing. Clever people determined to contribute to any society and on building up and not destroying what others paid for, get yourself out of that shithole this year already. Don't sacrifice your life for that unstable hell-hole.
