The Russian submarine Belgrad (also named Belgorod, depending on which language you prefer) left port ten days ago on 4 October, loaded with between 6 and 10 Poseidon nuclear missiles. One is a 'dud', and NATO expects Russia to have that one fired soon as a warning to the West.
An intelligence operative notified NATO headquarters, that then notified its members in a classified report. But since nobody can keep their snouts closed anymore these days, someone at NATO leaked the report, and the Italiano newspaper La Republica gotten hold of it. 😁
NATO is busy tracking the submarine, as is standard operational procedure for all nuclear subs. At present the sub is hanging balls under the Arctic ice. However, such subs can 'disappear' very easily, making it virtually impossible to track it other than by using indirect means, like intercepting intel at the Russian navy command.
What makes the particular Poseidon missiles on board that sub so dangerous, is that they are more like torpedos on steroids. It can travel up to 10 000 kilometers on its own underwater, undetectable. It's launch however can be seen by NATO's satellite system due to the heat generated at launch from the sub, despite the launch happening under water. But minutes later, the missile becomes undectable, and can then change course on its own to its final target.
Should the missile be sent close to the beach of any coastal city such as New York or Los Angeles and then detonate, the radioactive tsunami that will follow will completely destroy any of those cities. Entire skyscrapers will topple like candlesticks. The warheads those missiles are fitted with each packs a punch several times bigger than the nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.
Up to ten thousand kilometers away, the sub that launched the missile will only be visible on heat-detecting radars from satellites for some minutes during launch, before the submarine can become 'invisible' again to continue on a course towards another coastal city. It is assumed that several other Russian submarines carrying nuclear weapons are around the US coast at present, although no official reports have yet leaked out about it.
What I find telling, is that Italy now has a right-wing government, and as war fatigue creeps in, conservatives in from Hungary to the USA itself, and in cowardice Germany, are increasingly calling for leaving Ukraine to its own fate and at the mercy of the brutal Russians. (This explains why a right-wing newspaper published details from the stolen report.)
The Christian Taliban's immoral, corrupt characters are showing, see. Trump openly called for 'negotiations', or in so many words, for Ukraine to capitulate and accept becoming victims of real genocide. Elon Musk - slightly to the right of the political spectrum himself, thanks to his South African upbringing - also recently laid out a plan not too favorable to Ukraine. Which was rejected, obviously, by all people wanting to be on the right side of history, and wanting to preserve our freedoms by curtailing the Russian Hitler.
As winter approaches and a bleak, expensive year or more of energies lays ahead, the right-wingers are busy winning political ground everywhere. Sweden's recent elections proved it too (but I do agree with their stance on migrants from Africa. Don't come running to us after you messed up your own country.)
My issue is: Conservatives are almost all religious, some very deeply bitten in the unstable head by a talking snake. As such, they feel a crap for others. I'll pray for you, now go away. Don't make your problems mine. That attitude. The same with climate change, I don't see fauna and flora dying and going extinct, so it's not happening. But it sure is a dry year, hey. Let's pray to Pinocchio to change his perfect plan for us.
Putin, master strategist that he is - give the real devil his due - planned all this. I'm certain about it. He knows how people think collectively, and like Hitler he dreamed and obsessed about his life's goal for twenty years plus.
This year, he played his energy card at just the right times. Even offering Europe energy again via the unused Nordstrom 2 pipeline yesterday, knowing it will be refused officially. But come December, the citizens of the countries that refused will be up in arms against their governments, causing division and weaker unity and stronger right-wing sentiment.
As we know from history, and still present, religious people admire a man projecting a strong-man image even when he's a murderous skunk, like Putin built his reputation on. Which explains why many Republicans supported Zelensky earlier, he projected a brave strong image himself, and that's also why they worship a god-thing that tried to drown them in Florida recently.
And meanwhile out of sight but soon on everyone's mind, Putin's nuclear puzzles are busy getting into position.
